Gillian A. Hirsch concentrates her practice on the protection of family and individual assets with a focus on elder law, long-term care and estate planning, estate probate and administration, and legal agreements in contemplation of marriage and divorce.
Following her graduation from Albany Law School in 1996, Gillian was an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, NY, the busiest district attorney’s office in the United States. She then served as an Administrative Law Judge for the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, overseeing administrative hearings. Gillian later became Counsel to the Deputy Majority Leader of the New York State Senate, where she served as floor counsel and participated in difficult negotiations between Senate and other leaders. Gillian also served as Principal Court Attorney to a New York State Supreme Court Justice, whose successful campaign she managed.
As a volunteer, Gillian has successfully mediated many city court matters. She is trained in collaborative divorce, an alternative to lengthy and costly court battles.
Gillian was admitted to the New York State Bar in January 1997 and the United States District Court for the Northern District of New York in July 1998. She graduated from Leadership Saratoga’s Class of 1999, has served on several local boards, and is a member of the Saratoga Hospital Foundation Legacy Society.
